Water Safety New Zealand’s vision is that by 2025 more people in New Zealand respect the water and have the skills, knowledge and awareness to enjoy it safely. Our purpose is to lead a step change in New Zealand so people don’t drown. Through our leadership, advocacy, funding and education programmes, we support organisations which deliver drowning prevention interventions to make a real difference to the wellbeing of all people in New Zealand.

We have three full time roles vacant. Positions are based in Wellington.

 

Programmes Manager

As Programmes Manager you will have the day to day responsibility for managing WSNZ’s funding programmes, including the management of national and regional providers, and WSNZ’s annual funding round.

Your strong relationship management skills will be valuable when engaging with a broad range of stakeholders as will your understanding of funding and contract management. Your monitoring and evaluation of water safety programmes, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis, will enhance our and the water safety sector’s understanding of what good looks like in programme delivery. Download Job Description.

 

Research and Policy Advisor

As Research and Policy Advisor you will advise WSNZ’s senior leadership team on policy and advocacy positions on key issues, water safety research priorities and on research funding. Your innovative and collaborative thinking will support WSNZ to lead the water safety sector, and address the sector’s knowledge needs.

Your understanding and analysis of New Zealand legislation will also enable WSNZ and sector partners to comply with proposed legislative changes. Download Job Description.

 

Marketing Coordinator

As Marketing Coordinator you will have the day to day role in facilitating the delivering of marketing campaigns, projects, presentations and reports. Your creative side and writing ability means you will be able to conceptualise and write engaging copy for all manner of publication. Translating plain English and statistics into marketing focused content will be your specialty. 

Your great interpersonal skills along with attention to detail means you ask questions and provide appropriate solutions, in a timely fashion and with creative flair. Because you will be thorough, your 360° monitoring and evaluation reporting of marketing activity, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis, will enhance our understanding of campaign performance and impacts.
