The New Zealand Water Safety Sector Strategy, released in 2015, is currently under review and is being refreshed for the next five year period.

This work is being led by Water Safety New Zealand with direct input from the water safety Cross Sector Reference Group (CSRG) and wider water safety sector stakeholders.

Consultation and feedback is now being sought on the draft focus areas that the CSRG have compiled, and the proposed framework of the Strategy. This is your opportunity to have your say regarding the development of the Strategy. We are inviting you to feedback into this process, so your views can be considered.

At this stage, the document is only the outline structure of the Sector Strategy. We will be writing and expanding the document based on the core headings listed, taking into account your feedback.

You can submit using the form on this website by selecting “Have your say”. We look forward to receiving your responses.

We will follow up the submission process with face to face meetings in four centres (Covid restrictions allowing). This will give you the opportunity to come and hear what feedback was received, and how this has been incorporated into the draft framework. Other arrangements to close the consultation loop will be made, if face to face meetings are not possible.
