In 2009, the New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) conducted a survey of schools and created a database containing information about school aquatic education programmes (AEPs) and pools on behalf of Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ). The survey covered 2553 state, state-integrated, private, special and kura kaupapa Māori schools in the primary and secondary sectors. This is the report on the findings from the survey.
