Swimming

Swimming is not just exercise for the body, it a core-life skill which all New Zealanders need to possess no matter what your age.

The ability to swim and survive can save a life, yours or someone you love.

Drowning is the third highest cause of accidental death in New Zealand. Just by avoiding water sports will not prevent drowning since most people who drown do so even though they had no intention of entering the water. With the necessary skills there is no doubt that many of these tragedies could have been avoided.
